Last night, at approximately 11:50 PM a magnitude 3.2 earthquake occurred near Lake Whatcom and the Sudden Valley area. While there has been no reported damage from this earthquake, it serves as a good reminder to the community that Whatcom County is part of a seismically active area of the country.
There are many ways that an individual, a household, or a neighborhood can become better prepared to face any disaster that could occur in our area. You could prepare a disaster kit for yourself or others; attend a CERT training course; or get your neighbors together and Map Your Neighborhood.
