Dry Thunderstorms May Increase Fire Risk Friday

The National Weather Service has issued an updated Fire Weather Watch statement for portions of Washington State, to include the western slope of the north Cascades. There is the potential for dry thunderstorms beginning Friday that may generate lightning, which could ignite dry fuels (vegetation) in our area. Please be aware of the potential for lightning, and if it does occur in your area, be on the look out for lightning caused fires. If you do see a fire, call 911. There is currently a countywide burn ban, and there should be no open fires occurring in our region
