The Whatcom CERT program delivers training courses, continuing education and refresher classes, exercises, outreach to the public… and all on a very compact budget. We welcome support of all kinds!
Volunteer time. Graduates of CERT basic training can participate in exercises as role-playing victims, as assistants, as safety monitors, or on the moulage team. There are a variety of projects, both short term and perpetual, in which CERT volunteers can participate.
In-kind donations. Educational programs like Whatcom CERT use a lot of supplies of many kinds:
- nitrile examination gloves
- roller bandages
- emergency whistles
- safety blankets
- safety flares
- flagging tape
- traffic flags
- handheld radios
- office supplies
- and more!
Our final exercises bring together groups of 30-60 people. Perhaps you would like to support an exercise with pizza and bottled water!

Monetary donations. The Whatcom CERT program gratefully accepts your tax-deductible donation to the Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office Support Foundation (or simply write WCSOSF for the payee). On the memo line of your check, please write “Designated: Whatcom CERT.”
